                Grieg was the only major Scandinavian composer of the 19th century.  He drew on 
         Norwegian folk music to give his music a distinct, nationalistic Flavor.  While he is best
         known for his orchestra and piano works (he was a performing pianist), Grieg also wrote
         chamber music, art songs and choral music.
